What a special place! We visited here with some old friends to catch up on old times, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Our food was delicious, and was served quickly considering it was quite busy. The service was great too. Would definitely recommend.
We have been here a few times and recently returned as the food was usually really nice but on this latest visit the shine seems to have went.
One of the starters we ordered were the Bang Bang Prawns but felt they didn't come exactly as described (no crunchy peanut sauce and the asian slaw appeared to be sliced red peppers and red onion) so we queried this with the waitress. She was polite and did explain that is how she believed it was served but would check and come back to let us know. She did come back to collect our plates but nothing about the starter was mentioned again.
One of our mains was Beef Stroganoff which came as a portion of rice, half a pita bread and a normal sized bowl of stroganoff and everything was tasty however it appeared extremely overpriced at £22.95 (my fault for not checking the price to begin with). You would expect something like a steak for that price and sadly what I received felt way below what the price should have been. I do understand prices are increasing but this seemed excessive.
Sadly we won't be returning soon but will keep an eye on the menu and prices to see if things change. It's such a shame because we did enjoy travelling here to eat.
Amazing place, food delicious, atmosphere absolutely brilliant. Just love the staff, very friendly, have a laugh but stay professional.
Five of us stopped in here at the restaurant for breakfast on a Saturday morning.
The food was delicious and the service from the young staff first class.
There's plenty of parking at the rear of the building and a lovely beer garden area.
Been a few times over the years and always really impressed, last night however was the opposite. Food is really overpriced, its not a 5 star hotel after all ! £18,50 for a basic fish and chips is ridiculous. Service was poor , not offered any water for our table even tho the couple across from us were . Chef forgot to put a potato croquet on my plate so the waitress brought it out on a tea plate 5 mins later 😂. Didnt get asked how our meal was or offered more drinks when we had emptys sotting infront of us. Place was empty , says alot at 6pm on a Friday night . Won't be back.
Nice enough food but for the simplicity of the meals, I feel it was overpriced. Had a good family night out but too expensive for the quality of the meals.
Came down from Glasgow as we heard good things about the place. The staff were friendly, lovely interiors but we ate outside as it was a sunny day. The food was first class. Never had haggis, neeps & potatoes presented like this before !!
We stopped for a coffee and were made to feel very welcome in the beautifully refurbished bar/cafe.
We were looking for a sign that had River Doon on it for family history purposes. Our waitress wasnt sure so she went and asked someone else and in the end I think all the staff were helping us find where we needed to go. Their directions were superb and we found what we were looking for. Thank you so much.
